“The stories we tell literally make the world. If you want to change the world, you need to change your story. This truth applies both to individuals and institutions.” –Michael Margolis

ComLink has initiated a volunteer program called Future Makers, which will bring together individuals and groups to gather and share the hundreds of stories contained in our communities – our clients and also our paid and volunteer staff. Future Makers will work with ComLink producers in a variety of media – text, audio, video and online – to tell their own stories and interview others who want to share. In doing so, we will deepen and broaden the ComLink Story.

What’s the ComLink Story? It’s our way of understanding and sharing our purpose, making sense of it and staying in touch with our core values and goals. It’s about finding the commonalities and  connections that transform ‘groups’ into ‘communities’. And most importantly, it’s our way of staying in touch with the core elements of our business: our people and community.

We think that story telling can not only communicate and celebrate the Here and Now, but also help invent the future we want to inhabit. We want to ‘lead from the emerging future’, and grow our policies and behaviours to reflect an internal DNA which is front-facing and, yes, future-making.
