Community Visitors Scheme

The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is a free program designed to combat social isolation and loneliness. Clients are matched with a compatible volunteer to ensure you are given every opportunity to form a genuine friendship with each other.

Am I eligible for this service?

To be eligible for the CVS you must be on a Government approved Home Care Package. To start this process, submit your interest here, or call ComLink on 1300 761 011.

How does the program work?

As part of this program, you will be matched with a compatible volunteer who will conduct weekly or fortnightly visits with you. The nature of these visits can be whatever you would like it to be. If you’d prefer to have a cup of tea and a chat at home, that’s just fine. If you’d rather get out of the house and visit the beach or a local cafe, you can do that too. The aim of the program is for you to connect with someone, get out and about and have some fun!

Not currently on a Home Care Package?

If you are not currently receiving care services through a Home Care Package, but would like to learn about your options, visit our Home Care Packages page, or call our office and one of our friendly staff will be happy to help you.

I would like to visit others. How can I volunteer as a visitor?

If you are interested in volunteering with ComLink as part of the CVS program as a visitor, you can submit your interest by completing the form at the bottom on our Get Involved page.
